Thank You!
Participants and Volunteers,
Well, the 3rd annual Book’n 5K is in the books, and what a great year! The weather was just perfect for a run or walk, and the turnout was strong. This year’s chip timing made sure we all knew exactly how long it took to cover those 3.1 miles, down to the nearest millionth of a second, and even Bob the Gecko showed up! I’d like to offer a very sincere “Thank You” to our many volunteers who took time out of their day to help insure our runners and walkers had a great time, and of course thank all our participants for coming out to enjoy the course, the event, and the pancakes! Special thanks to all of our sponsors, and also The South Lyon East High School Chamber Choir, City of South Lyon Police Department, South Lyon Fire Department, and South Lyon Kiwanis!
Next year’s Book’n 5K will hold some surprises; keep an eye on our web-site! OK, I’ll tell you, but don’t tell anyone else… Yet! Look for the Storytime Strut to change its format; how about a timed run on the track, with a volunteer counting how many times you can make it around in 20 minutes!? Look for our categories to be changed to include walkers only, and who knows, maybe even a few people would like to run further than 5K! (Hint, hint…)
Thank you all for being a part of our event, and supporting the Salem-South Lyon District Library. We look forward to doing it again next year, and remember to enjoy our beautiful Michigan outdoors!
